Frequently Asked Questions
How does HipHip work?
See this step-by-step illustration of the process.
How do I share this with the honoree?
When you're ready, you can share the video link and also a link to the card's "Flipbook" view, where they can see all the love and respect. You can download a full MP4 video and re-upload it to places like YouTube or Facebook or Instagram. You'll find links to these in your "My Cards" area.
Can I keep it a surprise?
Yes! We do not contact the honoree in any way, and you can also choose the option "Keep it a surprise", which prevents signers (other than you, the card creator) from seeing the signatures as they come in.
When does the video get produced?
When you create your card, you choose a Video Production Date. On that date, within a few hours, you should get an email to a celebration video that's made from the signatures to your card.
Do I need Facebook or any other social media account?
No! Facebook isn't required in any way, nor is any other social media service. You can create the card, view the card and sign the card without any social media service. All you need is a web browser.
Can I edit the card once I create it?
Sure! Simply go to your "My Cards" area, and you can change the title, description, the featured image, when you'd like videos submitted by, whether you'd like to keep it a "surprise", what your video production date is, and other details of your card.
Can I delete or edit a photo, video or text that's been added?
Yes. If you're the card's creator or the one who added the signature, you'll see a control menu on the memory card. See the screenshot below:
You'll be asked to confirm.
What's the "QR Code" for?
The QR code is a tag that people can scan with their mobile phone to jump right to the card. One scenario is: you're looking at the card on your desktop computer, and remember you have a photo or video that'd be perfect right on your phone. Rather than go to your phone and re-typing the web address for the card, simply click the button in the intro area to reveal the QR code, and open the Camera app on your mobile phone, and scan the code. Most phones today will recognize that code and give you an easy link to visit the card. Another useful scenario is when you'd like to easily share the link with others who are standing near you. Simply reveal the QR code to others and let them scan it.
I've got an idea for an improvement. Where can I make product suggestions?
The best place to make product suggestions is our Public Roadmap, where you can upvote or downvote the features you'd like to see, and suggest new ones.
How can I get lots of people to sign the card?
In our early experience, card creators who are getting the most responses seem to be reaching out by text. To get the link on your phone, simply text it to yourself. You can do this from the "Share" link on your Dashboard. Then, once the link is on your phone, text it to friends and family members of the honoree.
You can also share on Facebook, using the special audience "Everyone except..." to ensure your honoree isn't on the list.
We also recommend sharing your link via email and other sources.
